Thanks. :) Actually it's still a couple of days away yet, but yesterday my dad and I had a good long birthday lunch and talk between ourselves, and it was probably the best early birthday present I could have gotten. I honestly love my dad so much. It doesn't always seem like it to other people because we can go weeks without calling and sometimes months without visiting, but he is so much the foundation of everything I am and feel and believe. I would be so poor in spirit without him.

(Sadly, the actual day this year will mostly commemorate the expensive birth of an entirely new AC unit here, after 6 typical DC days without AC. Oh, I suppose energy efficency, cost savings and improved climate controls will be something to celebrate in the long run, but still, this wasn't *quite* my idea of fun.)

I find Brian's first solo work, _Back to the Light_, really helps me keep going on whenever I feel lost or am worrying/grieving about past/current/future loss.
