- Recently I bought new towels
for the kitchen and first floor bathroom.
The latter are a rich gold color, made partly
of modal fiber from European beechwood trees.
Now every time I walk into that bathroom,
I feel compelled to touch them and savor
their texture. Sometimes I even take one
off the rack just to rub it against my face.
I appreciate all the good things I have.
I appreciate who and what makes me happy.
There is no language of the holy.
The sacred lies in the ordinary.

Date: 2005-01-17 09:23 pm (UTC)I cannot express how much pleasure I get simply out of watching the birds at feeder out my kitchen window. Just watching them interact, with the occasional stir caused by a Blue Jay or similar fellow who wants the feeder to themselves. I guess I need to continue to look for similar sources of simple pleasure.
Maudlin? Perhaps... probably the result of little sleep and few accomplishments, making me cranky.
