Lion: All right. I'll go in there
for Dorothy - Wicked Witch or no Wicked Witch -
guards or no guards - I'll tear 'em apart.
Ohhh! I may not come out alive but I'm going in there.
There's only one thing I want you fellas to do...
Tin Man and Scarecrow: What's that?
Lion: Talk me out of it.
Last weekend, while the mice were away:
in the misty mist or the dusky dusk?
What puts the "ape" in apricot?
What have they got that I ain't got?
Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man: Courage!
Lion: You can say that again!

Last weekend, while the mice were away:
- Worked hard on a first round of testing
a public web site interface. Announced
that it pretty much failed. Went home.
- Went out swing dancing at the Dulles Hilton.
Went out for the first time in a jam.
- Talked on the phone over a long distance.
Slept late. Read a bit. Cuddled the cats
(or did they cuddle me?)
Sent email. Started working on themed comp CDs.
Went to the bank, then went used CD shopping.
Wasn't able to reach someone on the phone.
Had a horrible fight with someone I love.
in the misty mist or the dusky dusk?
- Went out to hear industrial music
at a local club. First time ever doing that.
By myself.
- Didn't know anyone at all. Just sat there for 4 hours,
enjoying the music, taking lots of mental notes.
Never before had someone come up to me and ask,
"Hey, are you single? My friend would like to
meet you." How to explain? "Sorry, but thanks."
- Didn't dance, not this time, not yet. So strange
after several years immersed in partner dancing
to see people dancing freeform and isolated.
Bought a couple photographs on exhibit there.
Slept late. Heard from someone I love.
- Spent a nice day hanging out with a good friend.
Finished doing comp CDs on my various themes, and
copying obscure swing CDs for a friend to sample.
Had a difficult conversation about personal issues.
Finished reading _Shostakovich and Stalin_.
Took stock. Started looking toward the future.
